In order to reduce waste created by the company, the tech supplier Canon has partnered with Virginia-based Basic Construction to give waste toner from printers another life. The recycling process involves pelletizing the material to be incorporated into the asphalt mixture.

The ink cartridges that are collected for recycling are categorized by material and each part within them is separated by automated machines. From there, each different material is sent to its respective recycling process, which Canon is thankful to have discovered for the toner after a lot of research.
