Premier Press is a creative production and printing company that has acquired HP PageWide Web Press T250 HD to expand its product range in the field of high-quality direct mail and to conduct personalized marketing activities through high-speed inkjet printing.

Premier Press, headquartered in Portland, Oregon, provides a wide range of digital, offset and large format printing services for national brands, focusing on impact packaging solutions, creative production and apparel.

Premier found that its customers' demand for high-quality, creative direct mail is growing, and completed the installation of a 22-inch HP PageWide T250 HD last month to expand these services. During the pandemic, personalized direct mail has become a marketing strategy for industries that require new promotional strategies (such as short-term rental property companies).

"When selecting a network printer for direct mail, quality is our top priority. We want to continue our expertise in quality products and redefine direct mail with a new level of customization," said Vice President Manuel Saez. The PageWide T250 is the first digital press of its kind installed in the Pacific Northwest. "Our investment in HP PageWide Web Press HD color technology will allow us to grow our digital business and expand our overall production capacity."

The high-definition nozzle architecture (HDNA) on the HP PageWide T250 HD produces high-quality output without compromising productivity. HP Brilliant Ink provides new versatility, expands the color and paper gamut, and opens up new possibilities for the mass production of high-end direct mail and commercial and publishing applications. The new CMYK ink set offers bold reds and dazzling blues with glossy output and is specially developed for high-quality printing on coated and uncoated offset media.

Now, Premier is shifting offset printing work to new digital presses and benefiting from higher productivity, lower costs, and faster time to market. “We have a project every month that spends 80 hours on our existing digital inkjet printers, and we have successfully reduced the printing time of the new PageWide to only 14 hours,” Saez said.

Premier has established an integrated production line to optimize the speed and efficiency of digital printing. The T250 HD runs in-line with the Harris & Bruno AQ UV post-coating machine and the Hunkeler cutting machine stacker.

Saez said that its customers in the medical, financial and insurance sectors have also increased their demand for direct mail four-color, high-quality precision parts. Premier has an internal marketing team that can create complex 1:1 creative projects.

The new digital press uses water-based inks and is fed into FSC-certified paper rolls, and also enables Premier to continue to prioritize sustainability in its operations. The 200,000 square foot facility uses 100% wind power to maintain a zero carbon footprint business. Premier has also been certified as a sustainable green partner.
