A resident of Sector 32 was booked for cheating a doctor of her car. The accused has been identified as Tushar Sharma. In her complaint, Dr Anuradha, a resident of Sector 2, Chandigarh, alleged that she had posted an advertisement on an online portal to sell her car .

She said Tushar showed interest in purchasing the vehicle. He came to her house and took the car after paying her with a cheque, which got dishonoured.

A cheating case has been registered at Sector 3 police station.

Mumbai firm booked for cheating HC

A Mumbai-based company has been booked for supplying counterfeit toner cartridges to Punjab and Haryana high court. The complaint was filed by Deepak Singh, joint registrar of the HC.

He told police that the firm, Fountain Stationers, had delivered counterfeit Hewlett Packard toner cartridges , after which the printers at the court starting malfunctioning.

The high court officials contacted HP representatives, who confirmed the cartridges are not original.

Chandigarh man duped on ₹ 1.67 lakh

A Mohali man was arrested for cheating a Chandigarh resident of ₹ 1.67 lakh on the pretext of sending him abroad. The accused has been identified as Saurabh Sharma, a resident of Sector 122, Mohali. Based on the complaint of one Brij Kishore of Sector 29, Chandigarh, a cheating case had been registered on Saturday. The accused will be produced before a court on Monday.

The Enforcement Directorate on Friday said it has conducted searches at various premises of a private company in Bengaluru and froze assets worth Rs 370 crore. According to ED, a large amount of funds to the tune of Rs 370 crore were deposited by 23 entities including accused NBFCs and their fintech companies into the INR wallets of Yellow Tune Technologies held with crypto exchange Flipvolt Technologies Private Limited. Karnataka Minister urges people to take pledge for organ donation

India], August 13 (ANI): Karnataka Health Minister K Sudhakar on Friday urged people to take a pledge for organ donation on the occasion of World Organ Donation Day. "During this Azadi Ki Amrit Mahotsav, pledge to donate your organs which could be "Amrit" for someone's life," Sudhakar said while addressing a press conference. The Health Minister recalled Prime Minister Narendra Modi's Mann Ki Baat address, in which he appealed to people to donate organs.

NDDB to work with NDRI to take research to farmers

The National Dairy Development Board has decided to work with the National Dairy Research Institute, Karnal, to take the research to the farmers, said chairman of the NDDB, Meenesh Shah. “We have decided to work jointly and take the research work further so that farmers can avail the benefits,” said Shah speaking at a programme organised to mark the silver jubilee celebrations of the Model Dairy Plant of the NDRI.
